John P. Tavlarios is the President and Chief Executive Officer of General Maritime Management LLC. From May 2001 to December 2002 Mr. Tavlarios served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of General Maritime Corporation. From our inception in 1997 to January 2000, Mr. Tavlarios served as our Executive Vice President. From 1995 to 1997, Mr. Tavlarios was affiliated with Maritime Equity Management, where he served as Director of Maritime Operations. From 1992 to 1995 Mr. Tavlarios was President and founder of Halcyon Trading company, a consulting firm specializing in international business development with a particular emphasis on the international oil industry. From 1984 to 1992, Mr. Tavlarios was employed at Mobil Oil Corporation spending most of his tenure in the Marine Operations and the Marketing and Refining divisions. Prior to 1984, Mr. Tavlarios was involved in his family’s shipping business, assisting in marine operations. Mr. Tavlarios is a member of the American Bureau of Shipping, the Det Norske Veritas North American Committee, the SKULD Board of Directors, Board of Trustees of the Seamans Church Institute and the North American Panel of Intertanko. John P. Tavlarios holds an MBA from St. Johns University. Milton H. Gonzales, Jr. is a Senior Vice President - Technical Operations at General Maritime Management LLC. Milt Gonzales joined General Maritime in July of 2004. He brings over twenty-five years of industry experience to the company, including the technical management of different classes of large oceangoing vessels, as well as the oversight and financial control of approximately one hundred vessel dry-dockings in various shipyards worldwide. During the past four years Mr. Gonzales served as Vice President of Marine and Technical Operations for Cunard Line in Miami. Mr. Gonzales also worked for fourteen years with Sea-Land Service in a number of senior ship management positions. Mr. Gonzales is a 1976 graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, and also earned his First Assistant' Engineer's license while serving as a seagoing officer. He received his MBA from Duke University in 1980. Peter S. Bell is a Senior Vice President - Head of Commercial at General Maritime Management LLC. Mr. Bell joined General Maritime with over 25 years of shipping experience, including extensive chartering responsibilities. Mr. Bell most recently served as Managing Director at Teekay Shipping (Singapore) Pte.Ltd. where he was responsible for commercial activities including the chartering of crude and products tankers in the Singapore region. In this role, Mr. Bell also had overall responsibility for Business Development, Marine Operations and Agency, and Technical Support in the Singapore region. Prior to this, Mr. Bell was the Director of Business Development at Teekay Shipping Corporation. In this role, Mr. Bell was responsible for identifying, investigating and developing strategies for entry into new business areas. Prior to that, Mr. Bell was a Project Broker with MJLF & Associates. He also served as Vice President of Chartering at Maritime Overseas Corporation (Overseas Shipholding Group) for over seventeen years. Captain Kevin Coyne is Vice President - Maritime Compliance and Quality for General Maritime Management LLC. From November 2001 to December 2002 he was Manager of Marine Operations for General Maritime Corporation. From 1994 to November 2001 he directed Operations for Universe Tankships (Delaware) LLC, which managed vessels for Concordia Maritime Corporation – Sweden, Stena Bulk – Sweden and General Maritime Corporation – New York. Captain Coyne has sailed as a Ships Captain for Exxon Shipping Company, Tosco Corporation and the MEBA. From 1977 to 1989 Captain Coyne worked for Exxon Shipping Company, from 1989 to 1992 he worked for Sea-Land Service, and from 1992 to 1994 he worked for Tosco Corporation.
